Salt: the importance of salting food from within
Fat: emulsions, and fat's affect on texture
Acid: a catalyst for balancing flavor
Heat: when to use less and when to use more
Explore the best-selling book by award-winning Samin Nosrat, "Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat". We will dive into the four most important elements that Nosrat has claimed to make good food fantastic. Through discussion, taste-test experiments and hands-on recipe preparation, this class will teach simple cooking techniques that will bring the most flavor out of even your favorite dishes.
Some of the recipes we will make in class include fresh salsa, peanut lime dressing, apple pie, buttermilk chicken, and midnight chocolate cake.
