Lake, Lookout & Summit Hikes: A Wilderness Trilogy (Summer)
Women In The Wilderness invites you to step into nature’s perfect blend of serenity, scenery, and history through a trilogy of unforgettable trail experiences. This handpicked series invites you to fully immerse yourself in Montana’s untamed beauty — from crystalclear alpine lakes and historic fire lookouts to rugged summits that rise high above the Bitterroot Valley. Each trail offers a unique encounter with the land, revealing glacial waters, fire-scarred peaks, and stunning views. It’s a journey through Montana’s wild heart — one lake, one lookout, one summit at a time.
Trail Information
These hikes are considered moderate to difficult, typically ranging from 6 to 8 miles. **Some may extend beyond the scheduled outing time, so come prepared to hike at a steady, thoughtful pace and take time to fully experience each destination.
Planned Trails Include:

St. Mary's Lake – 7 miles or Kidney Crags – 5.5 miles
