Starting or growing a small business involves a lot of decisions, and it can be difficult to know what actually deserves your time and money.
Small Business & Marketing Basics is a practical four-week course designed for current and aspiring Montana small-business owners, side hustlers, makers, contractors, service providers, and anyone developing a business idea.
Participants will explore the fundamentals of setting up and presenting a business, choosing a business name, building a professional online presence, understanding websites and domains, developing a brand, using professional email, managing digital accounts securely, getting found through Google and local listings, using social media effectively, collecting customer email, working with outside designers or developers, using AI responsibly, and understanding basic advertising options.
The course will also focus on budgeting and prioritization. Participants will consider what their business truly needs, what can wait, what they can handle themselves, and what may be worth paying a professional to do.
By the end of the course, each participant will develop a personalized 30-60-90 Day Business & Marketing Battle Plan to help guide the next steps for launching or improving their business.
